<p>English football authorities have demanded an investigation after their players were targeted with alleged racist abuse during a World Cup qualifier against Hungary in Budapest on Thursday.</p> <p>Pitchside reporters for domestic broadcasters said they heard some Hungary supporters aiming monkey chants at England players Raheem Sterling and Jude Bellingham, who are Black.</p> <p>Englands players were jeered for taking a knee, pelted with plastic cups after goals and then targeted with alleged racist chants. England won the game 4-0, with Sterling among the scorers. The English Football Association said that it would ask world footballs governing body, FIFA, to investigate. </p> <p>England coach Gareth Southgate said that if the reports were true, it would be completely unacceptable.</p>
