Muslims all over the world fast from dawn to dusk on Ramzan which is the ninth month in the Muslim calendar and is considered an auspicious period. Observing fast is the fourth pillar of Islam, which means the practice is considered mandatory to follow for all Muslims. Its objective is to remind the suffering of the less fortunate and to bring the followers closer to God. They are also supposed to donate alms to the poor and feed the hungry.
