Nachnewale Gaanewale

Jaggu and Maggu are two friends and folk singers who live together and perform at different functions to earn a living. They decide to wed their respective kids to each other once they grow up. But upon hitting adulthood, Jaggu's son Chander who is now educated and well off refuses to comply to his father's wishes and instead decides to get married to a rich man's daughter and his girlfriend. Meanwhile, Maggu's daughter grows up to be a modest, simple girl named Kamla. Following Chander's outright rejection, Maggu makes a promise to himself, that he'd make Kamla a superstar.
