If youve ever chopped onions, you would definitely be familiar with the irritating tears that accompany the process. It may be hard to completely eliminate onion tears but Chef Saransh Goila has shared his tried and tested hack to peel onions with minimal crying!

Chef Goila suggests placing peeled onions in the freezer for 10 minutes or in the fridge for 30 minutes before chopping.

After you take them out, he suggests not chopping the root end. Slice or chop around the root and discard it at the end.

No hack is foolproof but he feels this comes closest to being successful in making sure you don’t cry a lot.
