England and Wales Cricket Board managing director Ashley Giles feels that Englands centrally-contracted players are unlikely to play the remainder of IPL 2021 if and when it takes place.

IPL was suspended midway due to Covid-19 breaching the bio-bubbles and BCCI is planning to host the remaining games before the World T20, probably in October. However, England is scheduled to tour Bangladesh and Pakistan in the said window.

Talking to the media, Giles said that due to clashes with the international calendar, he would expect his players to be a part of the national tours.
