One positive effect of the lockdown has been the ample time people are getting to spend with their families and in turn, their dear furry friends. The pets are thrilled to have people around at home all the time. They get to play with the kids as much as they want, have fun and be a part of all family activities.

So much so, that they might get a bit spoilt and end up sleeping with your kids on their beds. Most people do not allow pets on their beds for numerous reasons. But a new research study has a different tale to tell. Researcher Hillary Rowe says that the presence of a pet causes no negative impact on a persons sleep. In fact, the subjects, especially adolescents who slept with a pet, reported healthier sleep quality.

This study thereby debunks the belief that sleeping with a pet causes disruption. It also suggests that kids derive comfort and solace from sleeping next to them. So, now you don’t have to worry if your kid and your pet want to share a bed. And if they don’t already do so, go ahead and encourage them to cuddle with their pets now!

Also Read: Puppies can understand human cues from a very young age: Study
