Synopsis

Tea tree oil is a popular oil to use for skin remedies. This essential oil comes from the leaves of a small tree native to Queensland and New South Wales in Australia. The oil not only helps treat certain skin conditions but also promotes wound healing. Because of its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, Tea tree oil can be incorporated to treat several skin issues such as acne, itching and inflammation. The use of this oil is believed  to calm redness and swelling. Dilute a few drops of tea tree oil into your face wash or moisturiser and feel the difference. One can also use the oil to treat dandruff and to keep the hair healthy and moisturised. Apply a mixture of tea tree oil and a carrier oil to your hair and scalp. Allow it to stay in your hair for 20 minutes. Add a few drops of the oil to your shampoo, massage it into your scalp and hair for a few minutes before rinsing. However, one should always be cautious before using tea tree oil, its better to do a patch test first. Never apply it directly to your hair or skin and dilute it with whatever product you are using.
