Kishore (Kishore Kumar), a good-natured son of a rich landlord travels to Bombay to stay with his philandering, self-seeking cousin, Raj (Pran). At one of his hunting trips, Raj meets a man who tries to force him into marrying his jilted daughter. As a form of protest, Raj kills the man, only to pass the buck to his brother. Kishore flees before he’s apprehended and then tries to unmask the real guilty party with the help of his lady-love, Nirmala (Vyjayanthimala).
