A bandit Daulat Singh surrenders to law after accidentally killing a man. He feels obligated to take care of the widow and her son, and in an act of redemption, hiding his identity, he takes care of their monthly expenses from the money he earns working in the prison. Due to his good conduct, he is discharged after several years and returns home to his now grown-up Forest Officer son, and matured daughter. The village welcomes him back and also honors him.
