Katha

Inspired from the classic folktale of the hare and the tortoise, Katha is the story of Rajaram (Naseeruddin Shah), a clerk from a Mumbai chawl, who is secretly in love with his neighbour, Sandhya (Deepti Naval). But being shy and afraid of rejection, he is unable to disclose his feelings to her. Meanwhile, his confident, pompous friend Bashudev (Farooq Shaikh) arrives in Mumbai and manages to impress everyone, including Sandhya and Rajaram's boss, with tall claims and false stories of his achievements. With his fair and sincere ways, will Rajaram manage to get ahead in the game?
