Synopsis

The episode opens with the Daves awkwardly apologizing to Akash—the man Sunita battered with a stick the night before—who turns out to be their neighbour’s son, arriving to save them from their legal eviction. Before Akash can fully flex his legal prowess and flirt with Shivani, matchmaker Sharda Maasi storms in with a camera crew to livestream her latest project: setting Shivani up with an NRI suitor named Jay. Jay’s mother, Neenaben, embodies every demanding NRI stereotype, incessantly complaining about India's chaos while Jay’s father remains hilariously frozen on a Skype video call. Despite cultural clashes during a private terrace chat, Jay and Shivani tentatively agree to move forward. However, the eccentric family dynamics halt when Neenaben drops a financial bombshell: she expects a massive "Big Fat Indian Wedding" with 1,000 guests at a luxury venue, demanding the middle-class Daves foot the entire 20-lakh bill. Desperate to secure his daughter's future before they lose their home, Vasantlal plans to quietly drain his retirement fund. Unwilling to let her father bankrupt the family and jeopardize her siblings' futures, Shivani confronts Jay at a cafe to renegotiate the extravagant demands. When Jay condescendingly offers to secretly pay half the bill by stating "beggars are not choosers," a disgusted Shivani calls off the wedding to protect her family's self-respect. Storming out of the cafe in tears, she unexpectedly bumps into Vivek, the very first suitor who was rejected in episode one.
