Synopsis

Did you know who directed Amitabh Bachchan the most ? It wasn’t Manmohan Desai or Prakash Mehra but Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Yes, Hrishida directed Amitabh in 8 films, showcasing him in characters of various shades. Of these, 2 films were unique in the sense that both had a lot in common. They were JURMANA (1979) and BEMISAL (1982). Besides Hrishida and Amitabh, ‘Jurmana’ and ‘Bemisal’ had Rakhee and Vinod Mehra; both films were produced by Debesh Ghosh; both had music by R.D. Burman and lyrics by Anand Bakshi. And above all, both had the spirit of sacrifice! And both films are remembered till date, especially for its evergreen songs.
