Following a heated argument, Hasmukh Mehta (Dharmendra), a wealthy but miserly businessman, angrily tosses his wife's expensive necklace outside his house, which hits an unsuspecting pedestrian named Meena (Mallika Sherawat). To compensate for her broken earring and to prove a point to his wife, Mehta buys an expensive jewellery set for Meena, which gives rise to rumours of their alleged affair. This leads to a chain of hilarious misunderstandings and comedy of errors. To complicate matters, Mehta's son gets romantically involved with Meena.
