Vijay Choudhary (Jeetendra) lives a comfortable life with his wife Laxmi (Jaya Prada) and stepbrother Ravi (Mithun Chakraborty). Although, Vijay and Laxmi have been married for several years, they have no children and as a result, Laxmi is shunned and humiliated in the society. Meanwhile, Ravi finishes his education and marries his love, Lalita (Padmini Kolhapure) despite the fact that her family is at odds with his own. But Lalita wins over the Choudhary family. Soon, both the women get pregnant and while Laxmi gives birth to a healthy baby boy, Lalita's child dies at birth and because of the trauma, she's at a risk of losing her own life. It is then that Vijay and Laxmi decide to give their child to Lalita to save her life. Following this incident, the in-laws get involved, property issues begin to brew, and misunderstandings crop up the house, threatening to separate the family. Will this family be able to stay together despite all the adds?
