Thakur Singh (Amjad Khan) rules over a village with an iron fist. His atrocities lead to the death of Jeeva's (Amitabh Bachchan) mother, who is then thrown out of the village after being wrongly accused of killing a cow. Jeeva decides to avenge his mother’s death by bringing about the downfall of Jaswant Singh. To do this, he turns into a dreaded dacoit.
