Callous and greedy taskmaster Bhawani Devi (Lalita Pawar) stifles her family with her dominating and controlling nature. She wishes to get her sons married to rich girls who would bring in hefty dowry. But her younger son ends up marrying a simple girl Durga (Reena Roy). Durga is shocked to see the way her mother-in-law treats everyone and she aims to teach her mother-in-law a lesson in humility, while also hoping to win her over.
