Dinanath is a God-fearing man and a firm believer. Dinanath's son, Shankar grows up to be a common good-doer for all. He saves an orphan girl, Salma from being forced into flesh trade. He takes her to his place and introduces her as Shanti to Dinanath. Her caring nature makes Dinanath's desire to make Shanti his daughter-in-law. Thereafter, Salma finds herself getting attracted to Shakar. One day, Dinanath bumps into a blind man, who turns out to be his old friend, Dr. Varma, an old friend of Dinanath. Varma's daughter, Neetu, and his son were childhood sweethearts. Finally, the reunion of the long lost lovers shatters Salma's dreams.
