A journalist on the run from a gangster Jagmohan (Danny Denzongpa) and his men, leaves an envelope with a singer, Ramprasad (Raj Babbar) and asks him to deliver it to the police. Subsequently, the journalist is killed. The envelope gets Jagmohan arrested and sentenced to two years in prison. Ramprasad then begins to receive threats. The police advice him to assume a different identity and shift to a different location, but the threats do not stop coming. Fed up of running away, Ramprasad finally returns to his home in Mumbai and devises his own plan to end his plight.
