<p>A recent study conducted by the University of Oxford, UK suggested that eating saturated fat from red meat can increase the risk of heart diseases. The results of the new research were recently revealed at the ESC Congress 2021.</p> <p><strong>Also watch:</strong> <a href=https://www.editorji.com/story/vegetarians-have-healthier-disease-markers-than-meat-eaters-uk-study-1620974030700>Vegetarians have healthier disease markers than meat-eaters: UK study</a></p> <p>For the study, researchers examined a total of 114,285 UK Biobank individuals free from any cardiovascular diseases. The team followed the participants for nearly 8.5 years and evaluated their daily consumption of overall saturated fat and unhealthy fats.</p> <p>During the follow-up period, 4,365 participants suffered from cardiovascular disease; 3,394, from heart disease and stroke occurred in 1,041 individuals.
