All the participants were given iPhones to use and were asked to report their technology usage, stresses and moods for a week. The information was then utilised to evaluate the emotional responses of teenagers.</p> <p>The findings of the research revealed that teenagers who spent a moderate amount of time online after a stressful experience reported lower peaks in negative feelings, than those who avoided digital technology altogether or spent several hours online.
