Orphaned at a very young age, a poor man, Raju (Govinda) lives with his unmarried and mentally unstable sister. He falls in love with Parul (Sonali Bendre) but Parul's uncle has already arranged her marriage with a despicable police inspector, Suryadev Singh (Shakti Kapoor). When Suryadev finds out that Parul loves another man, he arrests Raju on false murder charges, which propels Parul to commit suicide. Suryadev also molests Raju’s sister. Enraged beyond measure, Raju then relocates and hides his sister in a remote village. But there, he ends up meeting a plain-clothed policewoman disguised as a village belle, on a mission to apprehend Raju at any cost.
