After establishing himself as a popular hero, the multi-dimensional Kishore Kumar turned towards writing and music direction with ‘Jhumroo’. He later followed his heart and produced-directed sensitive and emotional films like ‘Door Gagan Ki Chhaon Mein’, ‘Door Ka Rahi’ and ‘Door Wadiyon Mein Kahin’. His acting career took a back seat in the mid-60s but he continued singing occasional songs for Dev Anand. Then came ‘Padosan’, one of Hindi Cinema’s best comedies in which Kishore Kumar not only acted but lip synced for Sunil Dutt’s character. And soon his life changed completely after S. D. Burman persuaded him to sing for Rajesh Khanna in ‘Aradhana’. He realised his dream of pursuing singing as a career and achieved unprecedented success as a Playback Singer. He had an amazing range and could sing songs of any mood or genre. Kishore Kumar went on to become the voice of all the top heroes till his death on 13th October, 1987. On the personal front, Kishore Kumar married four times to well-known film actresses – Ruma Guha, Madhubala, Yogita Bali and Leena Chandavarkar. He had two sons – Amit Kumar from his first wife Ruma and Sumeet from his last wife Leena Chandavarkar. Screen Legends KISHORE KUMAR PART 2 continues his journey from an actor to a full-time playback singer and intersperses it with his movie scenes and song clips which are so memorable even today.
