Synopsis

Parveen Babi cemented her position with the super-success of ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’. She threw caution to the winds after getting involved with Kabir Bedi and followed him to Europe, leaving several films incomplete. She was fortunate enough to be welcomed back by the industry when she returned after a failed relationship. Her second innings proved to be more successful when she bagged several top films, especially with Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor. Parveen Babi first showed signs of being mentally ill when she was involved with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. The doctors diagnosed it as paranoid schizophrenia. She made a sudden disappearance in 1983 after a nervous breakdown and sought solace in the teachings of U.G. Krishnamurthy in New York. The industry chose to ignore her when an over-weight Babi returned in 1989. She thereafter led the life of a recluse, often hallucinating about people trying to kill her and passed away at the age of 50. Though her heartbeat stopped in 2005, socially she had died long ago, when she started living in isolation… unloved, unappreciated, forgotten, waiting to die an anonymous death! SCREEN LEGENDS Parveen Babi Part 2 concludes the story of the enigmatic and beautiful actress who gave Bollywood movie buffs some amazing silver screen moments.
