Synopsis

Shotgun Shatrughan Sinha’s unique style of dialogue delivery was an x-factor guaranteeing his popularity. His immense confidence and stylish body language soon became the talk of the tinsel town. In his initial phase, it was actress Mumtaz who supported Shatrughan and he bagged ‘Khilona’ opposite her and Sanjeev Kumar. His impactful negative role laid the foundation of his stardom which led to several performance-oriented roles in ‘Mere Apne’, ‘Blackmail’, ‘Heera’ and ‘Dost’. He soon started juggling between roles of a villain, hero and supporting characters. Shatrughan’s association with his FTII friend and filmmaker Subhash Ghai turned out to be super successful when Ghai directed him in his directorial venture ‘Kalicharan’ (1976). They followed it with another blockbuster ‘Vishwanath’ (1978). And his leading lady in both films was Reena Roy with whom Shatru went on to do a dozen films. Their superhit on-screen pair sent the media into overdrive linking the two. However, Shatru’s marriage with his longtime girlfriend Poonam in 1980 put a firm full stop to all the gossip. Shatrughan Sinha was an incorrigible late-comer who was blessed with an amazing memory as he could deliver 2-pages long dialogues in a single take. Shatru worked in several multi-starrers but never let anyone overshadow him. He entered politics in mid-90s and cut down on his film assignments. Screen Legends SHATRUGHAN SINHA Part 2 concludes the journey of the unconventional star who became an inspiration for several others.
