Synopsis

The 2nd Episode of GOLDEN CLASSICS re-visits Subodh Mukherjee’s JUNGLEE that made Shammi Kapoor and ‘Yahoo’ famous. Released in 1961, this romantic musical introduced Saira Banu in Hindi films and was the 2nd highest grosser of the year after Dilip Kumar’s GUNGA JUMNA. Made in colour, JUNGLEE followed the template of Shammi Kapoor’s earlier hits ‘Tumsa Nahin Dekha’ and ‘Dil Deke Dekho’ but at the same time added new elements that set the ball rolling for sweet romances of the swinging 60s that are fresh till date because of their evergreen songs. Shankar Jaikishan with their favourite lyricists Shailendra and Harat Jaipuri create magic with 8 songs. GOLDEN CLASSICS – JUNGLEE is a must-watch episode lovers of Hindi films and its music.
