Synopsis

It’s DOUBLE DHAMAKA time as we re-visit ANJAANA (1969) and AAP AYE BAHAAR AYEE (1971) - 2 films of Rajendra Kumar in this episode of GOLDEN CLASSICS. Written, produced and directed by Mohan Kumar, both films had superhit music by the magical duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal and lyrics by Anand Bakshi. While Karishma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor’s mother Babita played the female lead in ‘Anjaana’, her aunt Sadhana played the heroine in ‘Aap Aye Bahaar Ayee’. ‘Jubilee Star’ Rajendra Kumar faced a rough patch in his career for 2 years after the stupendous success of ‘Suraj’ (1966). ‘Anjaana’ proved to be the jinx-breaker and gave him the much-needed relief with its success. Mohan Kumar launched another film with Rajendra Kumar titled ‘Aap Aye Bahaar Ayee’. Both films have remained fresh in public memory, mainly because of its superhit music. Episode 13 of GOLDEN CLASSICS transports you back to the innocent era of late 60s and early 70s and treats you with interesting trivia, their storylines, scene clips and of course, its music and songs.
