Synopsis

DISCO DANCER, the name itself is enough to transport one to the dazzling, colourful world of 1980s. It is also the first Indian film to do business of 100 Crores globally and in the process, breaking records in several countries like the erstwhile Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, the Middle-East, Turkey, China, Japan and even Africa. Actor Mithun Chakraborty and music composer Bappi Lahiri became household names after the release of ‘Disco Dancer’ in 1982. Both came to be known as ‘Disco Kings’ while the world swayed to the tunes of its 7 chartbusting songs. ‘Jimmy Jimmy’ became the youth anthem of sorts in several countries. Episode 11 of GOLDEN CLASSICS re-visits the euphoria created by DISCO DANCER in the 80s, providing an audio-visual treat to all viewers with its foot-tapping songs, interesting trivia and stories. And the Bonus Content in the form of interview clips of producer – director B.
