Synopsis

Featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Parveen Babi, Smita Patil and Om Prakash in stellar roles, NAMAK HALAAL provided the perfect platform for Amitabh Bachchan’s multi-dimensional talent ranging from extreme comedy to romance, action and emotions. Bappi Lahiri rose to the top with the success of ‘Namak Halal’s superhit music. He was also nominated for Filmfare’s Best Music Director Award. Kishore Kumar won the Best Playback Singer (Male) Award for the 12-minute long laugh-riot ‘Pag Ghungroo Baandh”. NAMAK HALAAL also featured 2 evergreen Parveen Babi – Asha Bhosle songs – ‘Jawani Jaaneman’and ‘Raat Baaki’. The Episode is filled with interesting trivia about the 40-year old film that still looks so fresh.
